Based in Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Thule Charters operate daily scheduled marine sightseeing and wildlife tours to the seabirds and seals around the Noss and Hermaness wildlife and nature reserves.

From Sumburgh Head at the southern end of Shetland to Muckle Flugga at the northern end, our tours take in some of Shetlands most spectacular and beautiful scenery, seabirds, seals and other marine mammals, historic landmarks and uninhabited islands.
All this on a vessel perfectly equipped for photographers and fishermen alike.

Our tours are not restricted to what you can see above the water, Ruby May's comfortable cabin is also equipped with colour viewing screens and we have a submersible ROV mounted camera that shows the stunning variety of life beneath the waves.

Beware of imitations. Ruby May is the vessel used no less than 5 times by Simon King and is featured in the BBC documentary "Simon King's Shetland Diaries" (See our Testimonials page).

Our experienced and knowledgable crew can take you on an unforgettable trip exploring Noss, Shetland's east coast and Northern isles. Visit the Pictish Broch at Mousa, the Noss and Hermaness National Nature Reserves and sail round Britain’s most northerly outpost – Muckle Flugga lighthouse and the Out Stack. The sounds around Yell, Unst and Fetlar, important sea bird and seal feeding areas and a favourite haunt of the shy and mysterious Red-throated Diver, may also provide a chance to see Orca - Killer Whales, Minke Whales, Porpoises and there is also a chance of seeing otters feeding around the shorelines of the many islands.

The Shetland scenery is beautiful and varied – from dramatic cliffs to secluded beaches and uninhabited islets.  Additionally, our sightseeing tours take in some of Shetlands rich history including prehistoric brochs, Viking settlements, Hanseatic trading harbours and 17th century lairds mansions.
Take a look at our ever expanding Picture Gallery for some of the sights available.

RUBY MAY is available all year round for general charter and survey work and for sightseeing tours or sea angling trips during the summer months (May - September).
